About This Position
Position: Host/Hostess
Property: Live Oak, Charleston Historic District, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager

As we are preparing to open the doors to Charleston’s newest luxury destination, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Host/Hostess to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for an outgoing and hospitable individual with a commitment to excellence in both service quality and guest experience.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Host/Hostess will greet and seat guests in the restaurant. Ensure that each guest is greeted with warm, friendly enthusiasm and seated at his/her table efficiently, ensuring every guest will always receive a memorable experience.
Full Time and Part Time availability! $12-$17 hourly wage plus tips.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities are diverse in nature and include, but are not limited to:
• Greeting guests in a warm and welcoming manner upon arrival.
• Walk guests to their table suggesting items and drinks along the way.
• Ensure that the host is there to always greet guests.
• Ensure that the front of the restaurant is always clean; this includes the host stand, windows, sidewalk, etc.
• Check on every table to ensure that it is clean and fully set up, and that all silverware and glassware are spotless before any guests are seated at the table. In addition, check to ensure that all chairs are free of crumbs and that the floor is spotless.
• Pitch in and help in service as your supervisor advises.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Guest-focused personality and with strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet standards of appearance
• Maintain proper associate uniform standards and footwear which is slip resistant, enclosed toe and heel
• Self-starting individual
• Organized and able to work with a sense of urgency and seeking guest satisfaction
• Honest
• Able to work flexible shifts that includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Can meet the needs of guests’ satisfaction within company guidelines
