Sales & Rental Service Advisor at Campbell Companies – Salt Lake City, Utah
About This Position
The SLC Sales & Rental Service Advisor is responsible for coordinating service activities for rental equipment and new sales machines at the Salt Lake City rental shop, as well as coordinating with other branch locations. This role serves as the primary communication link between the rental team, service department, sales representatives, rental coordinators, and leadership. Reporting to the Work Order Department Manager, the Service Advisor ensures work orders are opened accurately, repair progress is actively monitored, estimates are coordinated, and invoicing is completed in a timely manner. This position requires strong ownership of machine repairs, especially large-scale or high-impact jobs, and clear, consistent communication across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and manage work orders for the SLC rental team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
- Monitor repair status of all machines in the SLC rental shop and proactively track progress from intake through completion.
- Communicate repair status, delays, and completion timelines to sales representatives, rental coordinators, the Rental Service Manager, and the Work Order Department Manager.
- Coordinate the development of repair estimates resulting from inspections, ensuring estimates are built accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the Work Order Coordinator to ensure all work orders are invoiced promptly and correctly.
- Take ownership of large scale or complex repairs, driving prioritization, follow up, and accountability for timelines.
- Ensure service documentation meets company and Caterpillar standards, including warranty requirements.
- Act as a key point of accountability for rental machine uptime and service-related communication.

- Caterpillar Warranty processes
- CAT Interact
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple work orders and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive repairs to completion.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, coordinators, sales teams, and management.
- High attention to detail in documentation, estimating, and invoicing support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Caterpillar dealership or heavy equipment service environment.
- Rental fleet or equipment lifecycle experience.
- Familiarity with inspection processes and repair estimating.
- Knowledge of Goodwill practices.
