Clinic Scheduler/Medical Assistant at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center – Anniston, Alabama

Responsible for scheduling appointments in accordance with the established guidelines in a manner acceptable to physicians and patients. The scheduler insures compliance with governmental rules and regulations.

• Schedules and reviews appointments.
• Checks out patients
• Maintains and utilizes computerized schedules.
• Performs patient notification duties.
• Performs clerical duties.
• Referrals
• Obtain prior authorizations, insurance verifications and benefits
• Keys in hospital charges and diagnoses
• Manages and maintains meaningful measures
• Assists with procedures and exams
• Performs billing duties for provider based billing
  
  Prefer prior appointment scheduling, physician office experience including coding. Knowledge of computer applications associated with hospital and physician practice to include word processing and spreadsheets. Prefer medical terminology.
  
  Must have HS diploma or GED. Data Entry and medical terminology test required.
