Position Summary
We are seeking a Patient Services Receptionist to join our expanding clerical team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, detail-oriented individual with a commitment to patient care, teamwork, and clerical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Performs clerical duties in a medical setting, such as scheduling appointments, taking copays, deductibles and patient balances, and assisting with check-in and check-out.
- Verifies and updates demographic and insurance information; scans identification and insurance information into EMR
- Responds to inquiries about benefits, balances, and authorizations in a timely and professional manner
- Manages provider calendars, ensuring referral or authorization requirements are met; supports scheduling of new and follow-up patients
- Manages incoming calls and triages messages; ensures all staff are promptly notified of all patient arrivals, cancellations, and schedule changes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience handling insurance verification, prior authorization, and patient collections preferred
