We are on the lookout for a Senior Area Manager, Transportation in Richmond, BC who shares our passion for logistics excellence and operational efficiency. In this dynamic role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing warehouse sortation, optimizing last-mile performance, and managing a multi-layered team of fleet operators and associates.
Salary Range: CAD$75k-90k
Location: Monday-Friday full time on site in Richmond, BC
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing the Parcel Operations in terms of warehouse sortation, route staging and loadouts, and last mile deliveries;
- Managing multiple Fleet Operators (FO) in terms of last mile coverage, performance evaluation (quality) and cost of deliveries;
- Managing Team Leads and associates in terms of providing direction, shift coverage/scheduling, approving hours and vacations and implementing disciplinary measures;
- Sourcing, scheduling and managing Temporary Agency Workers (Temps);
- Planning and implementing route optimization using route automation tools based on route efficiency with respect to coverage and cost;
- Using Looker to create reports/dashboards to track parcel operations metrics including but not limited to sortation, staging, loadouts, order life-cycle management (closed loop of orders) and last mile deliveries for costs, quality, continuous improvement and providing strategy, directions or mitigation to the team;
- Identifying root causes of issues in warehouse operations and last mile deliveries to provide proactive quality control measures;
- Creating and implementing SOPs related to warehouse health and safety protocols, parcel operational processes and delivery protocols for FOs;
- Tracking efficiency of cost and quality of parcel warehouse operations and last mile deliveries to adhere to KPIs and achieve targets and objectives;
- Using Microsoft Office and/or Google suite to track, present and analyze metrics/data for strategies;
- Adapting to different methods and techniques with respect to dynamic changes in operations and/or merchants;
- Assisting GoBolt’s Program Manager in onboarding new Fleet Operators.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in people management;
- 3+ years experience in analyzing and strategizing cost and quality of warehouse and last mile operations;
- Prior experience in basic use of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite;
- Fluent communication and follow directions in English;
- Must be knowledgeable in Greater Vancouver Area’s geography;
- Detail oriented;
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision;
- Ability to identify issues and have a strong willingness to go above and beyond to come up with or propose solutions.
