Responsibilities

In this role you will provide Human Resources (HR) support to corporate headquarters (CHQ) employees, drive community relations, and enhance employee engagement. This role focuses on implementing best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional HR services. Your primary responsibilties follow:

  • Lead and provide hands-on support on initiatives aligned with the CHQ Servant Leadership Framework and Corporate Contributions principles to enhance community and employee engagement
  • Provide hands-on support with the administration and management of sponsorship requests and community partnerships, performing administrative tasks and coordinating with stakeholders
  • Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies, procedures, and programs, including talent management and employee development strategies
  • Analyze contribution reports (budget, history, audits), summarize findings, make recommendations, and respond to internal and external audit requests with timely data submission
  • Lead HR and special company projects, including employee development, recognition, and service programs
  • Assist with CHQ HRIS functionality, including HR documentation, personnel files, and employee directories
  • Serve as an HR expert, cross-train with team members, and address employee inquiries related to HR matters
  • Conduct full-service recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, relocation to include expatriate assignments, and development
  • Assist with terminations, resignations, documentation, and exit interviews as needed
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws, maintaining accurate documentation and reporting
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications
To qualify for this role you must possess the following:

  • A bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field or the equivalent
  • Four and one-half years of progressively responsible HR experience
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP
Other Requirements:

  • Proven project management experience from initiation to completion
  • Knowledge of talent management practices and strategies
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong technical skills, including HRIS implementation
  • Ability to analyze budgets and data to identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage and resolve conflicts with stakeholders at all levels, including executives
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Results-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership, written, and verbal communication skill
  • Must be willing work at the General Dynamics’ Corporate Headquarters (CHQ) facility Monday through Friday and as needed weekends, evenings and holidays
