JOB SUMMARY:
Technology Account Specialists are responsible for learning the software and systems used in retail locations and are trained in upgrading POS systems, hardware, and related infrastructure. A primary responsibility of this role is to perform quality control testing to ensure that POS software, payment systems, and digital offerings are production-ready. This includes testing new products, interfaces, and software upgrades end-to-end before they are approved to go into production to ensure functionality, performance, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing operating systems, software, patches, and upgrades.
- Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring operating systems, software, and hardware.
- Review and analyze software requirements and technical specifications for clarity, completeness, and testability.
- Develop, document, and execute manual and/or automated test cases based on product requirements and design documents.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing across web, mobile, and desktop platforms as applicable.
- Log, track, and manage defects in issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA), and work closely with development teams to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Validate software fixes and perform retesting to ensure issues are properly resolved.
- Collaborate with product owners and developers to understand business logic and identify potential problem areas early in the development cycle.
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing test environments, data, and tools.
- Provide detailed feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or a combination of equivalent experience and training.
- Three to five years of job-related work experience with demonstrated competence.
- Retail experience and knowledge of POS systems are preferred.
- Knowledge of payment gateways and PIN pad devices is helpful.
- In-office presence is required with occasional travel to various retail locations.
- Install all types of computer software.
- Install, maintain, and replace all types of PC and hardware components.
- Able to work with and direct teams regarding retail point of sale, back office, web
- browsers, and other in-store technology relating to hardware and software.
- Should possess strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills in addition to an in-depth technical knowledge of the hardware and software.
Physical/Sensory Demands
- Frequent local travel using a personal vehicle for on-site installations and retailer support.
- Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable office environment, with regular interaction with various
- stakeholders.
