The Public Utilities Maintenance & Operations (M&O) department is seeking a Water Distribution Crew Supervisor who is a dependable leader to supervise workers and to oversee installation, modification, maintenance, repair or new construction of the City’s Water Distribution system, as well as, other City structures, facilities, fixtures, and grounds, or performance of City services.

You will be making a difference by accomplishing the following as a Crew Supervisor

• Coordinate, plan, assign and oversee work
• Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are secured
• Assist with budgets, contracts, or other administrative functions
• Maintain and complete work-related logs, forms, and reports as the Crew Supervisor

Required Qualifications: VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Requires a high school diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this position requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

• Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City Driving Standards.
• A Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required at time of hire.
• Tanker Endorsement is required within six (6) months of hire.
• Special skills or equipment certifications may also be required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications: Prefer prior experience in utility or construction work performing routine, semi-skilled and skilled work involving water valve and fire hydrant maintenance; emergency water main repairs, valve and fire hydrant repairs or replacements; semi-annual flushing; leak study; systems tests; installation of new distribution systems; maintenance and service of equipment; and street and concrete replacements, and or related work as may be needed.
