Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented digital press operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating digital presses in a fast-paced printing environment, with strong mechanical aptitude, computer literacy, and a commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a full web screen digital press, ensuring efficient and high-quality output.
- Conduct daily startup, calibration, cleaning, and preventative maintenance.
- Load and unload print media, handling materials safely and efficiently.
- Process RIP files using proprietary printer software.
- Monitor color consistency, making adjustments and recalibrating as needed to meet customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate logs for ink, paper, production, maintenance, and repairs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues, collaborating with service technicians and supervisors when necessary.
- Communicate clearly with prepress, pressroom, and support teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED prefered
- 1–3 years of experience in a pressroom, prepress, or bindery operator role within a printing environment.
- Strong mechanical skills and the ability to follow detailed work instructions.
- Excellent computer skills and basic math proficiency; ability to read a ruler and interpret job specifications.
- Keen attention to detail; able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to see and monitor color accurately.
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and troubleshooting.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Operates in a manufacturing/press room environment with exposure to loud noise, ink, and paper dust.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy rolls and print materials (up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs]).
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Must be available for shifts that may include evenings, weekends, or overtime during peak production periods.
