About This Position

Description:

Chronicle Books is seeking a Sales Assistant to provide sales support to our Mass Market business. The Mass Market team sells to national accounts and distributors, including Target, Walmart, Warehouse Clubs , Airports, Grocery and more. The Sales Assistant works very closely with the Associate Director of Mass Market Sales and supports the entire sales cycle.

Key Responsibilities: The Sales Assistant will manage Mass Market account purchase orders, work with operations to ensure adherence to vendor routing guidelines, conduct follow-up regarding shipments, work directly with accounts, coordinate pack-up configurations, and track purchase orders. They will communicate with contacts at key accounts, interact and communicate with inter-company contacts, create PowerPoint presentations and Excel grids, manage Account submission requests and create and maintain frontlist, seasonal, and promotional title set-ups. In addition, they will coordinate distribution of sales materials including mockups, maintain Sales call calendars, work with the Mass Account Manager and Operations to manage and maintain sufficient inventory for key titles on account planograms, while creating sales analyses using vendor portals.

Hiring Salary Range: $24.52/hr - $28.25/hr. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, an applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is eligible for our profit share plan.

Schedule: Employees at Chronicle Books will follow a regular hybrid schedule in our San Francisco office of at least three (3) in-office days per week and up to five (5) in-office days per week, depending on project and business needs. Requirements:

We are looking for someone bright, enthusiastic and analytical with a keen and critical eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once. Mastery of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) along with Planning and Organization skills are mandatory. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
