This is a senior executive leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling the engineering organization behind a complex, science-driven SaaS platform. You will define and execute the technical strategy that supports global product growth, ensuring the platform remains scalable, secure, and capable of supporting advanced scientific and data-intensive workflows. Acting as a key partner to executive leadership, you will bridge business strategy with engineering execution in a fast-growing, AI-enabled environment. The role combines hands-on technical credibility with organizational leadership, requiring the ability to guide architecture, delivery, and engineering culture at scale. You will oversee distributed engineering teams while fostering strong alignment with product, AI, and commercial stakeholders. In this role, you will lead the overall engineering strategy and execution, ensuring that technical direction aligns with business priorities and product vision. You will oversee engineering leadership teams, drive architectural decisions, and ensure delivery excellence across a rapidly scaling SaaS platform.

• Define and execute the engineering strategy in partnership with the CEO and executive leadership team
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers, technical leads, and senior engineers
• Guide architecture decisions to ensure scalability, performance, security, and long-term platform integrity
• Oversee engineering delivery including planning, prioritization, resourcing, and release management
• Improve engineering processes, delivery predictability, and operational excellence in a scale-up environment
• Collaborate closely with Product, AI, Commercial, and Solutions teams to align engineering outcomes with market needs
• Strengthen governance, security, and engineering quality standards as the organization scales globally
• Provide executive-level technical input to strategic planning, investment decisions, and business growth initiatives
• Champion a high-performance engineering culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and customer value

This role requires a strong blend of deep technical expertise and executive leadership experience within SaaS or complex enterprise software environments. You should bring a proven ability to scale engineering organizations while maintaining delivery quality and technical rigor.

• Proven experience in senior engineering leadership roles within SaaS scale-ups or high-growth environments
• Strong technical foundation, with prior experience as a software engineer before moving into leadership roles
• Demonstrated success leading large engineering organizations and product-aligned teams
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, scalable systems, and modern software engineering practices
• Experience balancing long-term technical strategy with short-term delivery execution
• Ability to operate effectively between executive leadership and engineering teams as a strategic translator
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working with executive and board-level audiences
• Excellent leadership capabilities with a coaching-oriented approach to team development and mentorship
• Strong communication skills and ability to represent engineering vision externally with clarity and authority
• Experience in regulated, scientific, or data-intensive domains is a plus (life sciences, healthcare, lab informatics)
