Welder/Structural Steel Fitter at Bellingham Marine Industries – Castle Hayne, North Carolina

SUMMARY:

Lays out, fits, and welds steel and aluminum components to assemble structural forms such as triangle

frames, rectangle frames, pile frames, columns, struts, and other building parts by performing the

following duties. Successful candidate will be subject to random drug screening per our Company DFWP

policy, may be subject to a background check. Dependability for work schedule is crucial.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR STEEL FITTER:

• Direct and lead employees;

• Read drawings;

• Develops layout and tack parts;

• Calculates figures such as angles and areas;

• Interprets a variety of instructions in written, oral diagram or schedule form;

• Operates small hand tools such as grinders, drills, and band saws;

• Operates forklift;

• Set up and operate fabricating machines such as punch, shear, notcher, torch or drill

press; Positions, fits, and aligns tack parts;

• Designs and fabricates templates;

• Verifies product conformance using blueprints and other means;

• Makes repairs to products by dismantling, reshaping and reassembling; and

• Other duties as assigned.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
