We are a leading provider in the property management industry, committed to delivering top-notch services to our clients. We are seeking a dedicated Porter to join our team and help maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our building.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
• Trash Compactor Management: Operate and maintain the trash compactor, ensuring it functions properly and safely. Regularly check for any issues and report them to the maintenance supervisor.
• Building Exterior Maintenance: Clean and maintain the front of the building, including sweeping, mopping, and removing debris. Ensure that the entrance and surrounding areas are presentable and free of litter.
• Vacant Apartment Preparation: Clear out and clean vacant apartments, ensuring they are ready for new tenants. This includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, and removing any leftover items. Ensure that all fixtures and appliances are clean and in working order.
• Common Area Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in common areas such as hallways, lobbies, stairwells, and elevators by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing surfaces. Ensure that these areas are tidy and welcoming for residents and visitors.
• Waste Removal: Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from common areas and vacant apartments. Ensure that waste is properly sorted and disposed of in designated areas.
• Light Maintenance Tasks: Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and replacing air filters. Report any major maintenance issues to the maintenance supervisor.
• Snow and Ice Removal: Assist with snow and ice removal from walkways and entrances during winter months. Apply salt or sand as needed to ensure safety.
• Reporting: Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs to the maintenance supervisor promptly. Keep accurate records of tasks completed and any issues encountered.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to residents and visitors, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally. Assist residents with carrying packages or other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain a trash compactor.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed.
