Position Summary:

The Data Center Night Shift Supervisor at Applied Digital is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Bitcoin mining data center during assigned shifts. This role ensures the facility operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company policies. The Night Shift Lead coordinates with on-site technicians, monitors system performance, and responds to incidents to maintain optimal operations. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and hands-on technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise data center operations during night shifts, ensuring uptime and performance.
  • Lead and support a team of technicians, providing guidance and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Monitor mining equipment, power distribution, and cooling systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and security procedures.
  • Respond to and resolve operational incidents, escalating as necessary.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance checks.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs and incident reports.
  • Coordinate with other shift leads, engineers, and management to optimize workflows.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
  • Support audits and compliance reviews as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in data center operations, mining operations, or industrial facility management preferred.
  • Experience leading a team in a technical or industrial environment.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, cooling, and networking systems is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot hardware issues.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and operational monitoring tools.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to work at nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Technical certifications are a plus but not required.

  • Security Compliance: Maintains awareness of data center physical and logical security expectations.
  • Digital Literacy: Uses productivity tools (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Excel, ticketing systems) for communication and documentation in office or hybrid settings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to remain in a seated position for an extended period and to lift and carry up to 47 lbs. (office manuals, case notebooks, case files, case materials, standard boxes, report binders, etc.) as needed.
