This role provides the opportunity to deliver exceptional claims support in a fast-paced, technology-enabled insurance environment. The CGL Claims Specialist will manage a diverse portfolio of Homeowner and Commercial General Liability claims, including habitational risks, premises liability, and bodily injury matters. You will investigate claims, determine coverage, negotiate settlements, and partner with legal counsel to achieve fair and timely outcomes. This position requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple claims concurrently while maintaining a customer-centric approach. The role is remote, with occasional travel for team meetings and training, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment where your expertise directly impacts client satisfaction and operational excellence.
Accountabilities:- Investigate, analyze, and determine liability for third-party damages and injuries with full and final settlement in mind.
- Ensure claims are handled fairly, accurately reserved, and resolved timely in compliance with state regulations and company guidelines.
- Review litigated complaints, collaborate with defense counsel, and develop appropriate legal strategies.
- Correspond with policyholders, agents, experts, and service providers to collect and analyze loss information.
- Calculate damages under policy terms and issue payments based on liability determinations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records in claims management systems, including all relevant documentation and communications.
- Apply insurance contracts and legal principles to guide decision-making and achieve optimal claim outcomes.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a casualty/general liability adjuster, with multi-state litigation experience.
- Knowledge of habitational risks, premises liability, and bodily injury claims preferred.
- Licensed or eligible for adjuster licensing in applicable states (TX, FL, CA, NY); support provided for licensing fees.
- Strong understanding of legal strategies, venue considerations, and claims management principles.
- Ability to draft coverage letters and manage reservations of rights, disclaimers, and declinations.
- Proficiency with MS Office, claims operating systems (IMS/LSS/Symbility), and communication platforms such as Slack and MS Teams.
- High attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
- Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, dedicated work-from-home space.
