Marin Acura is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to lead the service workshop in Marin County. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for a Master Level Technician who has earned ASE certifications and previously served as a team leader, lead technician, or shop foreman.

The right candidate will be responsible for maintaining the technical and operational performance of the workshop while supporting technicians, ensuring quality repairs, and maintaining the high standards expected from a luxury automotive brand.

This position plays a critical role in technician development, shop efficiency, repair quality, and overall customer satisfaction.

The Shop Foreman is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating vehicle repair and maintenance operations within the service workshop. This individual provides technical leadership for the technician team, ensures repairs are performed accurately and efficiently, and works closely with the Service Manager to maintain a productive and high-performing service department.

This is a working leadership position, meaning the foreman will assist with diagnostics, complex repairs, and technical support while overseeing the daily workflow of the shop.

• Provide advanced diagnostics and technical guidance to service technicians.

• Assist technicians with complex repair concerns and troubleshooting.

• Maintain the highest standards of repair quality and minimize comebacks.

• Perform road tests and quality inspections on completed repairs.

• Plan and monitor daily repair order workflow throughout the shop.

• Ensure work is distributed fairly and efficiently among technicians.

• Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, and quality metrics.

• Ensure repair orders are documented and billed correctly.

• Recruit, hire, train, and mentor service technicians.

• Support technician development and manufacturer training compliance.

• Conduct technician performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching.

• Promote teamwork and a positive shop culture.

• Assist service advisors with technical explanations when needed.

• Help resolve customer concerns related to vehicle repairs.

• Ensure repairs are completed accurately and delivered on time.

• Ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty procedures and policies.

• Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations including OSHA standards and hazardous material handling.

• Maintain shop cleanliness, safety standards, and equipment condition.

• Monitor department performance using productivity, efficiency, and comeback reporting tools.

• Ensure proper care and inventory of special tools and shop equipment.

• Participate in service department meetings and operational planning.

• ASE Master Technician certification strongly preferred

• Previous experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, or Team Leader

• Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Experience working within a dealership environment
