About This Position

About NclusionNclusion is on a mission to provide traditional financial services to 1.5 billion people worldwide without access today. Without a secure way to save, invest, or transfer money, individuals are not empowered to accumulate short or long-term wealth. We're changing that by bridging the gap between traditional banking and the communities that need it most.
About the RoleIn the field operations unit we’re building the platform that keeps a distributed network of physical locations online and able to securely process financial transactions. This is a high-impact systems-and-product role where you will design software that works reliably in the real world (intermittent connectivity, operational edge cases, and strict correctness requirements), and you’ll ship tools that field teams rely on every day.
What You’ll Do
  • Build services and workflows that keep locations operational: remote diagnostics, issue resolution, and automated recovery
  • Design event-driven systems that track and reconcile real-world financial activity with strong guarantees and audit trails
  • Build “operator-grade” tooling: clear state, actionable alerts, and workflows that work under pressure
  • Improve reliability and observability across a geo-distributed platform (SLIs/SLOs, tracing, incident response)
  • Partner closely with operations and product to turn messy field reality into scalable software primitives

What You Bring to the Table
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of production systems
  • Strong backend, fullstack, or frontend engineering experience (e.g., Typescript, Javascript, Java, Python)
  • Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale
  • Experience building reliable APIs and services
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces while striking a balance between speed, risk, and user experience
  • Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications
  • Offline-first and low-bandwidth systems: Experience building software that works reliably in environments with intermittent connectivity or limited bandwidth
  • Distributed ledger systems: Familiarity with blockchain, consensus mechanisms, or other distributed ledger technologies
  • Native and cross-platform mobile development: Experience with Android, iOS, React Native, or other mobile frameworks
  • Ops: GCP or AWS experience with Terraform or similar

Benefits and Perks
  • 📈 401k match up to 3% with additional tiered options
  • 🩺 Medical Insurance
  • 🦷 Dental Insurance
  • 👓 Vision Insurance
  • 💸 Competitive compensation & equity – We believe in sharing success.
  • ✈️ Flexible PTO – We focus on impact, not tracking vacation days. We encourage a minimum of 14 days.
  • 🍽️ In-office lunch, team events & culture

Yearly Salary: $150,000 - $260,000
