About This Position

Extern Pharmacy

  • JOB RELATIONSHIPS
    • Responsible to the Director of Outreach and School Relations. The Department Director of the area you have been assigned.
  • DEFINITION OF POSITION
    • The Summer Externship Opportunities for College Students program is designed to provide college students with practical work experience and exposure to real-world professional environments during the summer months. Students will have the opportunity to work with professionals in their field of study and gain valuable skills and knowledge that will enhance their academic and career pursuits. The externship may be offered in various departments in the hospital and could change year to year depending on hospital need and the availability and interests of the students.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Professional
      • Must be 18 years old and currently enrolled as a college student pursuing a degree in a relevant field or a high school graduate/program graduate with a career interest in healthcare or relevant field.
      • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
      • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
      • Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.
      • Professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
      • Basic computer skills and familiarity with relevant software or tools.
      • Availability to work during the specified summer timeframe of 8-12 weeks with a minimum of 12 hours a week but can choose to work up to 36 hours a week if approved by the department.
