Brief Job Overview/Summary

Stockton University seeks a dynamic and innovative Library Technology & Experiential Learning Specialist to advance the integration of emerging technologies, immersive learning spaces, and user-centered library services in the newly renovated Richard E. Bjork Library. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting the Richard E. Bjork Library’s transformation into a Library Learning Commons and reports to the Assistant Director of Learning & Engagement to develop and sustain experiential learning opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.

The successful candidate will bridge technical software and computer expertise with creative learning design, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing technology-rich environments while helping the campus community explore their potential for teaching, research, and engagement. This position is a Monday-Friday position with some expectation of occasional weekend or evening hours.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Learning & Engagement on initiatives that connect technology, teaching, and student engagement across the library’s specialized digital technology learning spaces.
• Maintain and support library-based technologies including immersive classrooms, podcast and media studios, 3-wall projection environments, digital signage, and collaborative study rooms.
• Provide day-to-day troubleshooting and technical support for hardware, software, and networked systems throughout library public and staff areas in collaboration with Stockton ITS.
• Train and mentor student assistants and interns engaged in experiential learning projects involving library technology, media production, or digital storytelling.
• Partner with faculty and staff to design, implement, and support technology-enhanced teaching and learning projects.
• Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and orientation resources for library technologies.
• Coordinate with campus IT when necessary to resolve complex issues involving network, authentication, or enterprise systems.
• Assist in planning and rollout of new digital and A/V systems related to ongoing and future library renovation phases.
• Participate in library committees, pilot projects, and outreach events that showcase experiential learning and innovation in library spaces.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information science, library science, computer science, media production, information technology, or a related field.
• Two years’ relevant experience in technology support, digital learning environments, or library services. (may substitute advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, or machine learning)

NOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.
Five (5) years of professional experience in different aspects of administration and business practices; including design and implementation of policy and procedures, vendor service contracts and improving and updating management practices.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and one (1) year of the above-mentioned professional experience.
NOTE: "Professional experience" refers to work that is analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range of basic knowledge of the profession's concepts and practices; and is performed with the authority to act and make accurate and informed decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an academic library or higher education environment.
• Familiarity with integrated library systems (ILS), digital repositories, or learning management systems.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies such as VR/AR, 3D printing, podcasting, and immersive media in a library setting
• Experience supporting A/V systems, classroom technology, or creative media production tools.
• Interest in mentoring students and facilitating experiential learning opportunities.
