This role is designed for a senior tax professional with deep expertise in blockchain, cryptocurrency, and digital-asset taxation. The Director will lead complex tax engagements, advise clients on structuring, tokenomics, and cross-border considerations, and translate technical concepts into actionable strategies. The position offers the opportunity to influence market thought leadership, contribute to research publications, and represent the organization at conferences and industry events. This is a fast-paced, highly visible role that combines client leadership, business development, and team mentorship in an innovative, emerging-technology environment. The role requires strong technical acumen, strategic vision, and the ability to navigate evolving regulations and market trends while fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented culture. Remote and hybrid work options are available, with periodic travel to client or industry events.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead multidimensional tax engagements across corporate, partnership, M&A, and international tax matters related to digital assets and blockchain.
  • Advise clients on entity structuring, tokenomics, revenue recognition, transaction characterization, and cross-border tax implications.
  • Conduct and review advanced tax research, agreements, models, and filings associated with digital-asset business models.
  • Oversee engagement management, including timelines, budgets, resourcing, quality control, and staff development.
  • Produce thought-leadership materials, market research reports, and educational content to influence the firm’s market presence and client strategies.
  • Mentor and train staff on digital-asset tax concepts, technical frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Represent the organization at webinars, conferences, podcasts, and industry roundtables, supporting business development and ecosystem engagement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; CPA, JD, or EA credential preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate, partnership, M&A, international, financial-instruments, or structured-transaction tax.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client engagements, budgets, and workflows effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Knowledge of blockchain, digital assets, token mechanics, DeFi, and on-chain analytics tools preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work remotely or in a hybrid model, with up to approximately 20% travel.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a strong interest in cryptocurrency, DeFi, blockchain infrastructure, or emerging financial technologies.
