Position Title: Assistant Professor, Library & Information Science (Tenure track)

Reports To: Associate Dean for SOIS in the College of Business, Information Studies, and Technology

Position Summary:
The School of Information Studies (SOIS) seeks an Assistant Professor of Library and Information Science specializing in information services in public libraries. The successful candidate for this position will contribute to teaching, advising, scholarship, and service aligned with the University’s mission and commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice. They will help develop innovative curricula that prepare students for roles in public libraries and other community-focused information settings. Areas of emphasis include intellectual freedom, adult services, readers’ advisory, information and digital literacy, community engagement, and inclusive, user-centered service design. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion, expertise in contemporary information settings, and understanding of strong partnerships with libraries, community organizations, and diverse civic agencies.
