About This Position
The Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) registered nurse leads the response for patient emergencies within the hospital and utilizes the nursing process and approved protocols to ensure evidenced based intervention is provided. The RN is the lead for a core of multidisciplinary members who collaborate on the care and escalate assistance as needed. The CCOT RN performs ongoing surveillance of patients seen and intervenes as appropriate. This clinician is a resource for nursing staff in the recognition and management of decompensating and high acuity patients. A dynamic environment requires the CCOT RN to make independent decisions and judgments that support high quality care. The Critical Care Outreach RN manages requests through autonomous triage, negotiation and prioritization. The CCOT RN serves as a resource and assures care is provided in a compassionate, ethical, and knowledgeable fashion, is based on the Caring Model and exemplifies the mission, vision and values of Rush Copley and in accordance with policies and procedures. The CCOT RN assures the highest degree of quality care is followed at all times keeping the care and safety our patient population as a top priority. Emergency response education, outreach and quality data management in support for continuous process improvement for patient emergencies is within the scope of this position. The role will move between CCOT and Staff nurse in ICU.
Position Requirements:
- Current IL RN Licensure
- American Heart Association CPR, ACLS and NIHSS required.
- Minimum of 5 year of critical care or emergency department experience preferred.
- BSN degree, if not already obtained, required within 5 years of hire.
