About This Position

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Operations Supervisor will provide technical support and direct supervision to manufacturing operations to meet business needs in a competitive manufacturing environment. Main responsibilities will be providing daily technical support to operations, scheduling, employee management, and developing, maintaining and improving processes for new and existing manufacturing procedures including process control initiatives.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary responsibility is for the Safety, Quality, and Productivity of the Processing departments, while enforcing company and safety policies.
  • Provide daily technical support to the assigned manufacturing area.
  • Supports the proper training of employees for maximum efficiency and outstanding quality.
  • Coordination of staffing for assigned departments.
  • Continuously interacts with support departments on Safety and Production related issues.
  • Sets high standards for plant housekeeping and enforces compliance.
  • Evaluate and develop employees, meet budgeted performance goals, verify ADP T&A.
  • Provide support/coverage to other Production Supervision including off-shift coverage as needed.
  • Lead, manage, and hold all production personnel accountable.

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS:

(Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job)

  • College degree or related technical discipline preferred, coupled with relevant experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Prefer 3+ years of experience in manufacturing supervision or relevant leadership role.
  • Ability to work 24/7 schedule; 12 hours shifts, 3 & 4 shift workweeks. Work schedule flexibility to optimize cross-shift communication and interactions with peers and direct reports.
  • A high level of ownership, personal commitment, and sense of urgency in combination with strong leadership, analytical, and mentoring skills.
  • Above average communication skills.
  • Proficient PC skills and demonstrated experience with MS Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and priorities.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with all levels of the organization.
  • Formal training in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma, a plus.
