About This Position

Human Intuition. Machine Intelligence. Relentless Exploration.
Exceptional trading emerges where human intuition meets frictionless experimentation. Our platform and processes enable traders to rapidly investigate ideas, identify emergent patterns, and convert insights into live strategies. This synthesis creates a flywheel of discovery — the key to our pursuit of excellence.
The Role:
As a Trader, you will be a key driver of the success of our semi-systematic trading desk. You will be responsible for developing, deploying, and managing trading strategies while taking and managing risk to generate P&L. This is a leadership role for an experienced trader who can combine market intuition with quantitative rigor to capitalize on opportunities in fast-paced electronic markets.
Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Development & Execution: Design, research, test, and deploy new quantitative strategies. Continuously refine and optimize the existing strategy portfolio to maximize profitability.
  • P&L Ownership & Risk Management: Take direct responsibility for P&L. Actively manage the portfolio's risk profile within defined limits, making decisive adjustments based on market conditions and performance.
  • Market Research & Idea Generation: Conduct deep, quantitative research into market microstructure, trends, and anomalies to generate novel trading ideas and alpha signals.
  • Platform Enhancement & Collaboration: Act as a key stakeholder, partnering closely with quantitative researchers and C++ engineers to design and implement the next generation of our trading platform, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Mentorship & Desk Leadership: Lead by example and mentor junior traders and analysts, fostering a culture of high performance, rigorous analysis, and continuous improvement on the trading desk.

You Bring:
  • Education: BA/BS or advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a quantitative or systematic risk-taking role at a proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or investment bank.
  • Skills: A deep understanding of market microstructure and electronic trading. Proven ability to research and develop profitable trading strategies. Proficiency in Python for data analysis, modeling, and prototyping is essential.
  • Professional Acumen: A verifiable track record of successfully managing risk and generating P&L in competitive electronic markets. Expertise in derivatives pricing, portfolio construction, and quantitative risk models.
  • Behavioral: Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to perform under pressure. A strong sense of ownership and accountability for results. The conviction to take risks and the leadership qualities to mentor others in a meritocratic environment.

We Offer:
At our firm, our people come first. We are committed to building a culture of collaboration, where we support each other through challenges and celebrate our collective successes. We believe that the strength of a modern workplace lies in its diverse workforce—diverse in ideas, cultures, and experiences. We actively foster this environment and take pride in being an equal opportunity employer.
In compliance with New York City’s Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated base salary for this role ranges from $200,000 - $300,000 annually, plus performance bonus, and based on experience and qualifications. Please note, this range excludes other components of total compensation, such as bonuses.
We offer competitive compensation packages, 401k matching, gender-neutral parental leave, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. While we value flexibility, we believe that in-person collaboration is key to solving complex challenges, which is why we require employees to be in the office 4 days a week. In-office perks include lunch stipends, fully stocked kitchens, happy hours, and a great location with amazing colleagues.
Our top priority is our people. We invest in a culture that promotes togetherness, helping each other through challenges and celebrating each other's successes. We believe that modern workplaces succeed by having diverse high-performance workforces — in ideas, in cultures, and in experiences. We put in the effort to make such a workplace a daily reality and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
