Estimator at Kamran and Company LLC – Fargo, North Dakota

Kamran & Company is a leading food service equipment provider and design agency. Over the past 30 years, we have cultivated trusted partnership across a diverse set of markets delivering over $1B in construction value. The Estimator will join a team responsible for reviewing bid documents and requesting pricing for the purpose of preparing detailed foodservice equipment estimates and bid proposals. In this role you will, review project plans to assess costs, resources and timelines with an analytical mindset to provide precise and comprehensive estimates.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Request and review foodservice equipment bid packages
• Help to evaluate bid opportunities
• Analyze drawings and other construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
• Solicit and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors
• Ability to provide value-engineering options as necessary
• Compile estimates and detailed bid proposals
• Follow-up timely on bids submitted
• Upon receipt of a contract, review scope of work and schedule. Coordinate with Project Manager, Project Coordinator and Contract Administrator
• Research questions as they arise
• Keep up with product and vendor discount knowledge

Skills & Qualifications:

• Foodservice industry experience a plus
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office products
• Strong relationship building skills with customers, general contractors, architects, manufacturers and vendors, and other trades on job sites
• Strong organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent customer service attitude
• Critical thinking and problem solving
• Excellent presentation and selling skills
• Basic working knowledge of general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
