About This Position
Program Manager
Program management and business development for the Next Generation Lander Program.In order to take on the role of ispace's lunar transportation business, you will be responsible for the program management of the first Next Generation Lunar Lander (Mission 4), which is currently under development with support from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's SBIR subsidy.
You will be involved in all aspects of business development, from defining the target market, selecting target customers, and formulating strategies to appeal to the target market and demonstrate competitive advantage, to reflecting these strategies in the design of the lander under development, and concluding contracts with customers. You will also be involved in the program management activities for this landing development, and will be involved in various coordination tasks with corporations providing operating support and also with internal teams and tasks.
Only candidate currently resides in Japan with valid working visa will be considered. Native Japanese requirement due to high volume of government liaison requirement.

- Formulate and execute payload/data customer acquisition strategies for lander programs
- Market research, company analysis

- Planning, project management, reporting on regular basis
- Bid proposal creation, contract conclusion after adoption
- You will share and assign program issues among division, conduct internal coordination, provide information and explanation to supporting corporations
- You will coordinate SBIR subsidy management/invoicing with internal team and management support corporations and fund management corporations
- You will share Information and collaborate with relevant internal departments (lander development project, domestic/overseas sales, payload technology, corporate planning, government relations, public relations/advertising, etc.)

- You have at least 5 years of work experience in program management or business planning
- You have participated in project or program management in the aerospace, high-tech, or related industries
- You have experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders (private companies, internal related departments, public organizations)
- You have experience in B2B or government sales
- You have experience in pricing strategy, contract terms and conditions, and contract execution
- Japanese: Native level (Japanese communication with domestic customers/SBIR management support corporations will occur frequently)
- English: Everyday conversation level (working with multinational teams mandatory. If you are not afraid of communicating in English, that is also fine)
- You have strong interest in space industry and lunar development (also have interest in creating a new industry)
- You plan to broaden your career path not limited to sales, but also through creating systems and/or designing schemes for industry-academia-government collaboration
- You can proactively work to improve business efficiency and other business improvements
- You are able to explain complex issues in a logical, concise and easy-to-understand manner

- You have knowledge and experience in commercial space transportation, lunar business, and data business
- You have understanding of global business practices and contract formats
- You have experience in market research, competitive analysis, and target customer selection

- You possess knowledge of aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, and systems engineering
- You have experience in public procurement and government contracts
- You have experience in contract work with Japanese and overseas government agencies (JAXA, NASA, ESA, etc.)
- You have experience in business development and start-ups
- You have experience in launching new businesses and raising funds
