The City is looking for a Senior Public Works Maintenance Worker.

Salary Range: $25.95 - $31.54

Under general supervision of the Public Works Maintenance Manager, performs and provides general supervision of varied skilled and semi-skilled labor in the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of City streets, water and sewer systems, drainage facilities, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, street lights, traffic signals, municipal buildings, structures, parks, equipment and facilities; performs other related maintenance duties as assigned.

• Must be able to perform the essential duties as identified for Maintenance Worker II.
• Under general direction of the Public Works Maintenance Manager, prioritizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and participates in the work of assigned Maintenance Worker staff responsible for the maintenance and repair of assigned public facilities and assets.
• Inspects and evaluates work in progress and upon completion to assure that repairs, maintenance and project activities are performed in accordance with City regulations, policies and operation procedures and practices; indentifies problem areas and directs remedial action.
• Assists the Public Works Maintenance Manager in development of goals and objectives for the department.
• Monitors work sites and ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures; responds to and resolves complex work related or equipment operation problems.
• Supports implementation of assigned Capital Projects.
• Coordinates with the Public Works Manager in regarding to ongoing department improvement initiatives including evaluation of new work methods and tools, maintenance SOP’s and departmental metrics.
• Routinely reviews priorities with the Public Works Maintenance Manager as needed to define priorities and allocation of sources.
• Ensure assigned personnel adhere to safety orders policy and procedures and comply with federal and OSHA regulations in all aspects of work.
• Support parts procurement process, including interfacing with vendors and obtaining of quotes in accordance with City procurement policies.
• Support the Public Works Maintenance Manager in regards to ongoing budget monitoring and input into annual mid-year’s budget review for assigned public facilities.
• Assists other departments in emergency or non-routine situations.
• May participate in on the on-call assignment rotation.
• Performs other duties as required.
