About This Position
American Community Bank & Trust (ACBT) is looking for a Commercial Banking Associate to join our growing team! You are invited to use your expertise to support the division head and McHenry County commercial banking team. In this role, you will help to establish, maintain and maximize relationships with existing and potential clients typically ranging from $1,000,000 or more.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Advances and supports the Bank's Mission and Core Values through words, behavior, and attitude.
2. Deposit Services
- Open, document, and maintenance business deposit accounts
- Open document, and maintenance retail deposit accounts
- Open, document, and maintenance all support products: overdraft protection, debit cards, etc.
- Quarterback all new commercial client onboarding projects. Provide guidance to officers and clients on the items needed for account opening.
- Complete manual wires.
- Provide comprehensive client support and service as necessary.
3. Credit Administration/Support
- Contact clients to maintain credit file: financial statements, borrowing base certificates, insurance, exceptions, covenant issues, etc.
- Relationship memos as required.
- Update Financial tickler status within the appropriate software. Pull reporting and track progress on outstanding items.
- Pull covenant testing report and work with analyst to complete.
- Monitor Share file submissions and distribute to the appropriate individuals.
- Submit items for archiving.
4. Loan Operations/Support:
- Process loan transactions for clients.
- Coordinate Adverse Action process and Reg B compliance.
5. Client Relationship Management
- Maintain active contact with client portfolio.
- Maintain and organize client relationship electronic files.
- Administer/maintain data in CRM software including entry of new prospects, clients, opportunities.
- Keep Pipeline up to date.
- Various duties as necessary to establish and maintain relationships.
- Manage SharePoint for group as needed.
6. Cross trains other team members for back-up support as needed.
7. Supports the sales culture of the bank by seeking opportunities to promote bank products and services.
8. Remains in compliance with all applicable banking regulations.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Actively seeks opportunities to strengthen the relationship between the bank and the community while maintaining a positive, professional, and respectful image of the bank.
2. All internal meeting organization as necessary.
3. Other duties may be assigned.
Education
Specialized training in lending, loan documentation, and compliance issues.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years' related experience preferably within a financial institution environment.

- Advanced knowledge and understanding of sales cycle, including sales planning, sales approach and providing solutions selling to business and commercial clients.
- Ability to prospect and network at various levels within a company, along with enhanced communication and negotiation skills for moderately complex deals and relationships.
