What You’ll Do:

  • Plan and implement an age-appropriate, individualized curriculum that supports children’s development and the center’s educational philosophy.
  • Serve the children of NECC staff from 6 weeks to 5 years old
  • Provide direct supervision and care for children’s daily activities — indoors, outdoors, and during routines (including diapering/toileting, handwashing, and other self-care tasks).
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with families and colleagues.
  • Prepare anecdotal notes and developmental observations for parent conferences.
  • Complete accurate daily reports for parents using the HiMama app.
  • Support a safe and healthy classroom environment, following all health and emergency procedures.
  • Share in team housekeeping responsibilities and maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.

What You’ll Need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Be a caring, dependable, and creative educator who enjoys working with young children.
  • Problem-solving skills, a professional demeanor and good classroom management.
  • The ability to meet EEC Teacher qualifications (preferred: 3 credits in Child Growth & Development and 9 months experience)
  • A team-orientated attitude that values collaboration, equity, and open communication.
  • CPR certification (child, adult, and AED). Classes at NECC are available within your first 6 months.
