About This Position
Lyrba USA, a sustainable and socially responsible plastics processing company, with a brand-new state of the art food grade PET sheet production site that utilizes 100% post-consumer material as its feed source.
Position Summary
The Quality Control Lab Technician will be responsible for testing and measuring raw materials, finished goods, and in process quality.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Receiving, labeling, and storing samples to be tested
- Determining and performing tests needed for the analysis and report
- Recording tests and analyses and maintaining equipment records and daily work logs.
- Maintain lab supplies and equipment, including recalibration of equipment.
- General housekeeping of the lab to include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning work area and taking out the trash.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) preferred.
- One to two years of experience working in a plastics manufacturing preferred.
- Able to use computer systems, Windows operating systems experience preferred
- English language communication both spoken and written.
- Able to work with fractions and decimals, MM and inches.
- Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
- Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
- Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Able to walk, stand, sit for extended periods.
- Able to able to handle extreme heat/cool weather operations.
- Available for flexible working hours/rotating shifts/overtime if needed.
- Able to work in a diverse, team-oriented environment yet still be able to think independently.
- Able to follow both written and spoken work instructions.
- Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
