Section Chief, General Neurology - Westchester Medical Center at Westchester Medical Center – Valhalla, New York

Job Summary:

The Department of Neurology at Westchester Medical Center Health Network seeks a dynamic and collaborative physician leader to serve as Section Chief of General Neurology. This individual will provide clinical, operational, and academic leadership for General Neurology across the health system and play a central role in advancing the department’s vision of “One Neurology. One Standard. One System.” The Section Chief will lead efforts to expand access, standardize care, support faculty development, and integrate general neurology services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Job Responsibilities:

• Clinical Leadership
  • Lead General Neurology clinical services across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Expand patient access and reduce wait times for general neurology care
  • Develop standardized clinical pathways and care models
  • Partner with APPs and multidisciplinary teams to optimize care delivery
• Strategic Growth
  • Develop a network-wide General Neurology model
  • Expand services across affiliated hospitals and ambulatory sites
  • Support alignment between general neurology and subspecialty programs
  • Identify opportunities for program growth and innovation
• Education and Faculty Development
  • Mentor and support General Neurology faculty
  • Participate in resident and medical student education
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding of faculty
  • Promote academic and scholarly activity
• Quality and Operations
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives within General Neurology
  • Collaborate with operations to optimize templates and workflows
  • Monitor performance metrics including access, patient experience, and efficiency
  • Support implementation of departmental

Requirements / Qualifications:

• MD or DO; Board Certified in Neurology
• Eligible for New York medical licensure
• Academic appointment at New York Medical College commensurate with experience
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and teaching
• Leadership experience preferred
• Any subspecialty interest is welcome
