Summary
Manage and schedule work flow within the value stream. Oversee and modify processes in order to maximize efficiencies and safety within the value stream. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety and hazardous materials requirements, accurate maintenance/updating of logs, maintaining correct manuals and ensuring adequate reserves of inventory/supplies. Assist other areas of the value stream to ensure smooth product flow.
Authority
Incumbent has the authority to perform and/or assign tasks and duties, start and/or stop operations within the value stream, release products, deny release of product due to quality/stability concerns, assign priorities, and commit resources within the value stream to ensure efficient workflow. Incumbent also has the authority to stop work which permits any employee at any level to halt a job or task when a hazardous situation appears imminent, or they feel unsafe.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient flow of work within the value stream and provide assistance and/or training to other technicians as necessary.
- Ensure the established departmental production schedule is followed with consideration towards Bulk Manufacturing processes, QC testing timelines, and Packaging workflows to ensure timely delivery/availability of products.
- Work closely with the Inventory Department to ensure stock products and NCITCT products are made before they are needed in logistics.
- Manage value stream resources such as NISTs/standards and instrument PM scheduling, repair visits, and parts ordering.
- Act as a champion of change control within the value stream along with the Stock Processing Supervisor improve processes.
- Keep management informed of areas of concern and/or project timelines and deadlines. • Support other departments to ensure efficient processing of orders and provide information for customers pertaining to stock products.
- Approve stock products for release and assign certified values and uncertainties
- Assist with training of Stock Value Stream staff.
- Attend required meetings to ensure efficient communication.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required –
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field of study
- A minimum of 2-5 years previous job-related experience
- Working knowledge of ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AA, IC, wet assay methods, and laboratory equipment calibration
- Knowledge of the periodic table, laboratory practices/equipment, lab safety practices and ISO 9001, 17025, and 17034 standards
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Analytical ability and strong operational focus
- Keen attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions
- PC proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and specifically excel
