JOB TITLE: CNC Setup Technician

DEPARTMENT: Tooling/Design

REPORTS TO: Tooling/Design Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for performing a wide range of duties to setup, operate, and maintain on-site CNC equipment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in CNC operation with good mechanical aptitude. These job duties will be carried out by a detail-oriented and quality-focused individual who will play an important role in sustaining AMTEC’s success in providing reliable products to our warfighters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ability to operate and maintain numerous CNC machines while training to take on additional setup tasks. Having some CNC setup experience is a plus.

2. Oversee and execute routine machine maintenance for all CNC equipment.

3. Ability to prepare and load raw materials into all CNC machines.

4. Experience with blueprint reading and interpretation of design models.

5. Ability to set machine parameters based on finished product tolerances.

6. Have an understanding of machining sequence and methodology.

7. Diagnose problems, communicate concerns, and provide solutions regarding equipment performance and efficiency.

8. Establish inspections and monitoring of key dimensions through the use of standard measuring equipment and gaging.

9. Ability to stay organized and document setup notes effectively.

10. Must exhibit good leadership qualities, professionalism, and self-motivation.

11. Must be able to train operators to run CNC equipment and maintain product quality.

12. Regular attendance is required.

13. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

14. Perform all other duties that may be assigned or needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION TYPE:

This is a salaried non-exempt full-time position.

TRAVEL:

No travel required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires a high school diploma/GED and must have previous experience in operating CNC equipment. Any additional CNC-related classes/education is a plus.
