Respiratory Therapist Certified or Registered Full-Time at TYLER HOLMES MEMORIAL HOSPITAL – Winona, Mississippi

Job summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Therapy and upon the order of the Physician, sets up and performs therapy procedures and equipment to be utilized in the treatment and diagnosis of respiratory disease or illness.

Job responsibilities:

• Patient assessment to evaluate patient's respiratory conditions through diagnostic tests and physical examinations to determine their needs.
• Work with Physician to determine treatment plan for patient including nebulizers, airway clearing techniques, oxygen therapy, Noninvasive O2 therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patients' response to therapy and consult with Doctors and nurses to adjust care as needed.
• Mechanical ventilation will be monitored until the patient is transferred to another facility.

Diagnostic procedures: EKG’s, Pulmonary Function Studies, and Holter Monitors.

Education/Licensure Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
• Must be Certified or Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy
• Must hold a current License by the Mississippi State Board of Health.

Respiratory Department hours:

• 0630-1630 7 days a week on a 5/2 split schedule.
• Full-time staff will have a set routine schedule, but this could change to ensure coverage for the department.
• For full-time employees call will be covered after 1630 by the person working the shift.
