POSITION SUMMARY

The Front Door Attendant is the first and final impression of the restaurant’s luxury hospitality experience. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for delivering a gracious, anticipatory, and highly personalized welcome to every guest.

As a key ambassador of the brand, the Front Door Attendant ensures that each arrival feels seamless, exclusive, and thoughtfully curated. This position requires poise, discretion, heightened situational awareness, and the ability to operate flawlessly in a refined, high-volume fine dining environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Arrival Experience
  • Provide an immediate, polished, and personalized welcome to every guest upon arrival.
  • Open doors with attentiveness and grace, assisting with coats, umbrellas, and personal belongings when appropriate.
  • Address guests formally when applicable and recognize VIPs, repeat guests, and special occasion diners.
  • Maintain an elegant and composed presence at the entrance at all times.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with the service team to ensure smooth guest transitions into the dining room.
Brand Representation & Ambassadorship
  • Serve as a visible ambassador of the restaurant’s luxury standards and culture.
  • Uphold impeccable grooming and uniform standards.
  • Communicate with refinement, confidence, and warmth.
  • Demonstrate discretion and professionalism when handling high-profile or VIP clientele.
Guest Relations & Service Recovery
  • Proactively monitor guest satisfaction from arrival through departure.
  • Respond to guest inquiries with accuracy and sophistication.
  • Manage guest concerns with calm urgency and immediately involve management when necessary.
  • Exercise sound judgment in resolving minor guest issues independently.
Operational Excellence
  • Ensure menus are carefully created, error free, and presented with precision.
  • Oversee the visual presentation and cleanliness of the entrance and immediate front-of-house areas.
  • Support the service management team during peak service to maintain controlled guest flow.
  • Maintain awareness of reservation notes, special events, and guest preferences.
Facilities & Presentation Standards
  • Conduct discreet and routine restroom inspections throughout service to ensure luxury-level cleanliness and full stocking of amenities.
  • Address presentation details promptly to maintain the restaurant’s elevated environment.
  • Report maintenance or cleanliness concerns immediately to management.

  • Demonstrated experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or high-touch service environments.

  • Ability to deliver service that is warm, gracious, confident, and knowledgeable while maintaining humility and professionalism.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests at all levels with poise and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively during high-volume service.
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to continually expand knowledge of cuisine, beverage programs, service standards, and restaurant offerings.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a disciplined, team-oriented environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Naturally polished, courteous, and engaging demeanor.
  • Impeccable grooming and adherence to luxury presentation standards
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and holidays as required in a fine dining environment.

Requirements:

ENVIRONMENTAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with federal, state, and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, climb stairs and steps, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
