Role Description
The Automation and Controls Engineer role is based in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. The Automation & Controls Engineer designs, develops, programs, and maintains automated systems and industrial control processes to improve productivity, reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. Ensure systems comply with safety, regulatory, and industry standards. Ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic components within control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain automation and process control systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical, control, and robotic equipment to minimize downtime.
- Develop, modify, and optimize control system architecture and programming.
- Ensure automated processes operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support manufacturing goals.
- Interpret and update electrical schematics, documentation, and technical drawings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Process Control and Troubleshooting of manufacturing systems
- Strong knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles and applications
- Experience working with Robotics and related technologies
- Expertise in Control Systems Design and implementation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and software programming knowledge is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Previous experience in manufacturing or a similar environment is preferred
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field
- Practical experience with industrial automation environments, including internships/co-ops, is highly valued
