Description:

Job Title: Seasonal Aquatic Attraction Specialist (Hydro-Hype Team & Slide Dispatch)

Company: First Coast CMS Location: St. Johns County, FL Job Type: Seasonal / Part-Time

(Fill-In) Season Duration: April 1st – October 31st

So, what is this job? We are looking for upbeat, attentive Aquatic Attraction Specialists to bring

a focused, fun, and high-energy vibe to our pool decks!

Important Note: As an Aquatic Attraction Specialist, you are NOT a Lifeguard and will not be performing deep-water rescues. Instead, you are the master of the high-energy zones: you will man the top of the Water Slides and keep a watchful eye on our Splash Pads and water features. You are the gatekeeper of the fun, managing the flow of riders, enforcing safety rules, and greeting guests with a big smile.

Let’s Have Some "Real Talk" (The Nitty Gritty):

? The Heat is Real: You will be standing outside in the Florida sun. You need to be able to stay focused and alert even when it’s 95 degrees and humid. But don't worry—you get fun, rotating A/C breaks to keep you cool and fresh.

? This is a Team Position: We need you here to keep our slides and splash pads open. If you don't show up, the slides close. We need a true team player and a reliable individual—not someone who leaves the team hanging.

? Repetition is Key: You will say "Feet first, crossed ankles," "No running!" and "Wait for my signal!" about 500 times a day. You need to maintain your energy and authority from the first rider to the last.

? You Are the Safety Sheriff: You have to be comfortable enforcing rules—especially height limits. You will have to tell kids (and parents) "No" if they aren't tall enough. You need to do this firmly but kindly.

The "Superpowers" We Need:

? The Cool Head: In an emergency, you don't panic. You snap into action, trust your First Aid/CPR training, and assist the Lifeguard team and management in securing the scene.

? The "Eagle Eye": You never zone out. You are constantly watching the water features and the slide tower to ensure guests are playing safely and following all the rules.

? The Weather Watcher: You know Florida weather turns on a dime. When the storm rolls in, you help clear the entire pool deck. You are the voice of reason who delivers the hard news: "Sorry folks, the facility is closed!" and ensure every single guest exits the

pool deck and gets past the gates to safety.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing:

? Slide Dispatch: Controlling the flow of traffic at the top of the slide tower and ensuring safe spacing between riders.

? Water Feature Management: Monitoring splash pads and play structures to ensure safe play and rule compliance.

? Rule Enforcement: Enforcing height restrictions, safe riding rules, and checking access.

? Emergency Response: Administering First Aid/CPR/AED IF necessary and assisting the Lifeguard team during facility emergencies.

? Maintenance: Maintaining a clean environment in and around the pool deck (picking up trash, straightening chairs, organizing lost and found).

? Opening/Closing: Prepping the slide/activity area for the day or locking it down at night.

The Schedule (Please Read!):

? Duration: This is a SEASONAL position running from April 1st to October 31st. The busy season is Memorial Day through Labor Day.

? Fill-In / Flexible Role: This is primarily a fill-in position! You will be our go-to backup for the team, picking up shifts to help cover busy days, team call-outs, or extra events.

? Flexibility: Schedules will fluctuate based on facility needs, weather, and events.

Requirements:

The Must-Haves:

? Minimum Age: You must be 15+ years old to apply.

? Certifications: Current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications are REQUIRED. (The great news? You don't need this before you apply! If you are hired, we will pay for and provide this training for you. Please note: successfully completing this training is a strict requirement to obtain the role. Failure to obtain your certification will result in a non-start).

? High-Energy Hospitality: We work in a fun environment! You must bring a high-energy, customer-service mindset. A smile and a positive attitude are just as important as enforcing the rules.

? Reliable Transportation: You need a way to get to work on time, every time.

? Physical Stamina: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs (slide tower repeatedly), and handle outdoor weather conditions for extended periods.

Sound like you? If you are focused, energetic, and ready to keep the fun flowing safely this summer, apply today!
