The Role:
The Material Handling & Saw Operator supports production by preparing raw materials, operating cutting equipment, and maintaining organized material flow throughout the facility. This position ensures that machine shop operators receive properly prepared materials on schedule while maintaining accurate inventory and safe material handling practices.

What You’ll Do:
• Operate industrial saws to cut raw materials according to production requirements and perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Unload incoming materials from delivery trucks and verify shipments for accuracy and condition.
• Maintain, organize, and track raw material inventory to ensure efficient access and accurate stock levels.
• Coordinate with machine shop operators and the Machine Shop Manager to prepare and deliver bins of cut material that support current production schedules.
• Place orders for raw materials as needed to maintain appropriate inventory levels and prevent production delays.
• Safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, cranes, and overhead gantry systems.
• Transport completed machined parts to staging areas and other designated production zones within the facility.
• Prepare finished components for safe transport to external vendors for services such as anodizing, heat treating, or other specialized processes.
• Maintain accurate records through both digital systems and physical tracking methods to support production traceability and inventory control.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Always represents the company in a professional manner

What It Takes:
• Ability to operate industrial saws and safely handle materials using equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or overhead gantry systems.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, able to maneuver weight exceeding 50 lbs with equipment assistance, able to lift repeatedly and stand, bend, reach, and maneuver for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and attention to detail to follow work instructions accurately and maintain precise material preparation.
• Basic math and computer skills to maintain inventory records, verify shipments, and use digital tracking systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet production deadlines, and take initiative in completing tasks and solving problems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, a positive attitude, commitment to safety (including required PPE), and ability to maintain a clean, organized workspace.
