About This Position
Fleet Operations – Logistics Specialist
Primary Objectives of Position
The Fleet Operations Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing daily chassis repositioning operations, logistics workflows, and reporting to ensure timely, efficient movement of equipment across multiple transportation modes, including sourcing truck power for flatbed, road stacks, and single repositioning needs. This role oversees daily fleet transactions, coordinates with internal teams, and supports business partners in meeting fleeting and operational demands while maintaining accurate records and reporting.
The specialist also monitors vendor performance, develops alternative solutions when vendors underperform, and builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. By evaluating operational conditions, identifying challenges, and implementing tactical responses, this role delivers cost-effective, reliable logistics solutions that optimize service and support the company’s supply and equipment repositioning requirements.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Chassis Transportation
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily chassis repositioning across multiple transportation modes and markets with existing vendors.
- Track and document all dispatch activity in company systems, ensuring orders are initiated and completed accurately.
- Process and record vendor invoices to ensure timely payment and shipment completion.
- Prepare daily reports summarizing transportation activity, ongoing projects, and operational status.
- Manage transportation costs to stay within plan while meeting service delivery expectations.
Vendor Management
- Monitor day-to-day vendor performance and service quality, addressing issues promptly and escalating to management when needed.
- Develop alternative vendor solutions when current providers cannot meet operational requirements.
- Balance cost and service reliability to achieve organizational cost targets.
Data Integrity & System Management
- Ensure accuracy of chassis movement transactions by validating gate activity, managing exceptions, and correcting errors.
- Maintain orders and loads within the Drayage Operations System, ensuring work orders progress from Open to Completed.
Operational Reporting & KPIs
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to support operational decision-making and track performance.

Job Specifications
Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts or Science or Equivalent work Experience of 4 Years
Preferred Degrees: Business, Supply Chain Management, or Finance
Skills Required:
Microsoft Excel – ability to create worksheets, charts/graphs, data tables, pivot tables
Office 365 suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SharePoint
