About This Position
In General:
To lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, training, retention initiatives, benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Duties:
The Human Resources Manager is directly responsible for the following essential duties:
• Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations’ human resources and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
• Provide support and guidance to HR Business Partner, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodation, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
• Oversee the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
• Generate month end Human Resource reports in order to have a clear understanding of the key metrics as defined by the company to help guide the Leadership Team.
• Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
• Design and implement effective training and development plans.
• Create, implement, and evaluate all human resource department policies, procedures, and structures.
• Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Manage/oversee compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Engage in work force development and community events such as chamber events, career fairs, and other recruitment initiatives.
• Regular attendance is required as outlined in The Company’s attendance policy.
• Act as a positive role model in all aspects of professional performance.
• Observe safety procedures and personnel policies and ensures same of staff.
Secondary Duties:
The Human Resources Manager may be assigned various secondary duties, including but not limited to the following:
• Participating with colleagues from other business units to identify and share best practices across the MAAS Aviation group of companies; and
• Engaging with the local (Mobile, AL.) community via the Chamber of Commerce and/or other community partners to promote MAAS Aviation’s business and interests.
• Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• In-depth knowledge of HR laws, policies, and best practices.
• Experience in HR reporting; with an understanding of Strategic HR Metrics.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, and constantly evolving environment.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite with a strong understanding of Excel.
• HR certifications (SHRM, PHR, HRCI or equivalent) Preferred.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.

• Must be able to interact cordially and productively with all employees of The Company.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to use general office equipment including computer keyboard by touch, voice mail system, copy machine, and printers.
• Must be able to proficiently read, write and communicate clearly in English.
• Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among, employees.
• Must possess effective communications skills with ability to handle difficult people or situations.
• Must be able to keep information confidential and make decisions with little supervision.
• Must be able to use hands, fingers and wrists repetitively, using a computer keyboard.
• Must be able to travel by automobile to other locations as needed.
• Eligible for employment within the US.
• Willing to submit to a drug and alcohol screen.
• Willing to submit to a background check.
• Ability to see clearly with or without lenses.
• Ability to hear clearly with or without aids.
• Must comply with all company rules, policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
