This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a VP, Manufacturing Science and Technology - REMOTE. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and commercialization of processes for drug manufacturing, ensuring that they are compliant with global regulations. You will be responsible for building strategic partnerships, optimizing manufacturing processes, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives. Your technical leadership will directly impact product efficiency and innovation, shaping the future of healthcare solutions. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will oversee the transition of development projects into GMP manufacturing, making significant contributions to patient treatments worldwide.
Accountabilities- Independently develop and lead the DS development team while collaborating with the DP development team.
- Build strong GMP manufacturing partnerships to support drug development and commercialization.
- Develop group structure and onboard key personnel to manage talent gaps.
- Provide technical leadership in DS manufacturing optimization throughout clinical phases.
- Define the framework for DS process lifecycle management, including validation and ongoing verification.
- Lead operational oversight of DS technology transfer and process improvement activities.
- Oversee early-phase development personnel and support transition processes from Discovery to CMC.
- Represent late-stage process strategy in internal cross-functional teams.
- Lead technical investigations and represent the company in regulatory discussions.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with cGMP and health authority expectations.
- Prepare and review CMC sections for regulatory submissions.
- Develop best practices for working with CDMOs and maintain a phase-appropriate QMS.
- Support CDMO audits and quality agreements.
- Serve as the Program Team Lead on internal and external facing programs.
- S./M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years of pharmaceutical industry experience focused on small molecule drug processes.
- Experience with late-stage cGMP manufacturing and successful technology transfers.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP requirements and CMC regulatory expectations.
- Skilled in using statistical tools for process validation and characterization.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Availability to travel for plant visits at least 20%.
