Responsibilities
- Performs invasive procedures; venipuncture or capillary on patients/ donors to obtain blood samples for the purpose of analysis in accordance with standard laboratory and hospital procedure.
- Performs laboratory specimen receiving, processing and distribution function.
- Prepares and packages specimens in the appropriate containers for transport to testing laboratory.
- Performs patient data, order entry and results distribution.
*This position will float between the Outpatient Cancer Center Lab and the main hospital lab at the Moore Campus.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program that includes phlebotomy or a minimum of 6 months experience in phlebotomy.
- Preferred: ASCP or equivalent certification.
