Band Saw Operator at Quality Electrical Systems – West Jordan, Utah

Overview
This role supports production by preparing steel components through abrasive blasting and cutting raw material to size using horizontal and vertical band saws. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality of work, follows safety procedures, and works well in a fast-paced shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
Operate steel shot blasting equipment to clean
carbon steel components
• Set up and operate horizontal and vertical band
saws to cut material to specified lengths
• Read and interpret basic shop drawings, cut lists,
and work orders
• Inspect parts for quality, surface finish, and
dimensional accuracy
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and
report any issues
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE
use
• Assist other shop operations as needed

Knowledge and Experience Requirements
• Previous experience in a metal fabrication or
manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience with abrasive blasting and/or band saw
operation is a plus
• Ability to safely handle steel material using cranes
and forklifts
• Basic measuring skills (tape measure, calipers,
etc.)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended
periods
