Job Title: School Nurse (7th - 12th)

At CPA, we believe in transformation through education. We aren’t just looking for a medical professional; we are looking for a compassionate caregiver who views healthcare as a ministry. The School Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring our campus is a safe, healthy environment where students can flourish academically, physically, and spiritually.

Core Value Integration

Your role is more than checking temperatures; it’s about embodying our DNA:

? Walk with Jesus: You provide a calming, Christ-centered presence for students in moments of pain or anxiety.

? Leave it better than you found it: You proactively manage campus wellness and improve health protocols to ensure a safer environment for everyone.

? Invest in relationships: You build trust with parents, students, and staff, becoming a reliable partner in every child's care.

? Come as you are but don't stay there: You meet students in their current physical or emotional state and help them move toward healing and growth.

? Do hard well: You remain composed and decisive during medical emergencies or complex health crises.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Care & Assessment

? Provide high-quality nursing care to students and staff, including first aid, emergency care, and management of chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies).

? Administer medications in strict accordance with state laws and school policy.

2. Health Administration & Compliance

? Maintain accurate, confidential electronic health records for all students.

? Monitor and enforce immunization compliance and reporting in alignment with school policy.

? Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with specific medical needs.

3. Health Education & Wellness

? Act as a resource for teachers and staff regarding student health issues and infectious disease control.

? Promote healthy lifestyle choices through education on nutrition, hygiene, and mental wellness.

? Assist in developing school-wide safety and emergency response protocols as needed.

4. Communication & Collaboration

? Serve as the primary liaison between the school, parents, and healthcare providers.

? Communicate with empathy and clarity regarding student illnesses or injuries.

? Collaborate with the school counseling team to support the "whole child," recognizing the link between physical health and emotional well-being.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Requirements

? Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state (BSN preferred).

? Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, public health, or a school setting.

? Certifications: Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (BLS).

? Skills: Strong organizational skills, proficiency in health-tracking software, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

? Ability to move quickly across a K-12 campus.

? Ability to lift or assist students as needed (up to 40 lbs).

? Sufficient vision and hearing to perform physical assessments.

General Requirements

All employees must commit to performing their duties in accordance with the stated mission and purpose of the school, CPA 101, CPA Policies and Procedures Manual, and the Westminster Confession of Faith. All employees must be evangelical Christians and active members of an evangelical Christian church.

All of the above duties and responsibilities are essential job functions for which reasonable accommodation will be made. All job requirements listed indicate the minimum level of knowledge, skills and/or ability deemed necessary to perform the job proficiently.
