In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain cloud-based systems that support critical government and nonprofit missions. You will apply technical expertise to develop secure, scalable, and efficient cloud environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize administrative processes. The position requires collaboration across cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring adherence to cybersecurity standards. You will work with multiple cloud service providers, automate infrastructure, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. - Design, develop, implement, and configure cloud system administration environments and tools
- Apply security controls and implement cybersecurity features across PaaS and IaaS environments
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, serving as an informal lead
- Define, communicate, and implement cloud architecture and administration processes
- Troubleshoot issues, perform operational support, and maintain administrative processes for cloud environments
- Develop or support innovative solutions to complex technical challenges using industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud solutions with strategic goals
- Participate in tiered support coverage, including occasional on-call duties during weekends or holidays
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent (13 years’ professional experience may substitute)
- 5+ years’ experience configuring cloud administrative environments and tools
- Expertise in defining secure-based cloud architecture while adhering to development and engineering standards
- Experience with cloud automation, including Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using HashiCorp Terraform
- Familiarity with multiple Cloud Service Providers, including AWS GovCloud, AWS Commercial, and Azure
- Ability to support cybersecurity teams in risk assessments, security analysis, and reporting
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Knowledge of managing cloud resources such as Virtual Machines, Virtual Desktop, Active Directory, and network infrastructure is a plus
