Geocgi is looking for a Cloud Architect to support NATO’s Cyber and Digital Transformation (CDT) Division at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. This role will help drive enterprise cloud adoption across NATO, aligning technical implementation with strategic objectives during NATO’s “Year of the Cloud.” This is a high-impact opportunity to shape cloud strategy and modernization efforts across a complex, multinational environment supporting over 25,000 users.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and maintain the NATO Enterprise Cloud Implementation Strategy, ensuring alignment with mission and evolving technologies Provide architectural guidance and evaluate cloud design decisions across enterprise programs Support major cloud initiatives (e.g., enterprise networks and modernization efforts) Lead pilot projects to accelerate adoption and reduce risk for large-scale cloud implementations Collaborate with internal teams and external providers to ensure successful delivery Serve as a key liaison across stakeholders, including technical teams, program leadership, and security bodies Facilitate workshops and drive solutions to complex technical challenges Deliver clear, actionable briefings to senior stakeholders and technical boards
As a candidate supporting NATO:Health and Social Insurance: Coverage through mandatory contributions to the national social security system, including health insurance, pension, unemployment, and family allowance benefits. Paid Leave Entitlements: Statutory annual leave, sick leave, and other types of leave as provided under applicable labor laws. The following are requirements of the Cloud Architect:U.S. Citizen and Active U.S. Passport. Active DoD Secret Clearance or NATO Secret Clearance. 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree; or 2 years of experience with a PhD. 5+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) 3+ years of experience supporting large-scale cloud migrations from on-premise environments Experience working in complex, large organizations (e.g., government, defense, or international environments) Proven ability to manage stakeholders and guide technical decision-making Strong written and verbal communication skills (English) The following are preferred of the Cloud Architect:Experience with on-prem or air-gapped cloud environments Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) Knowledge of enterprise frameworks (TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT) Experience in multinational or defense environments (e.g., NATO, EU) Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) Two
The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $140,000 - $165,000 USD. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position.
