About the Position:

As a Deli Associate at Pilgrims Market, you will play a vital role in our deli department. Your responsibilities will include preparing a variety of made-to-order items, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a positive customer experience. You will engage with customers, provide samples, and handle transactions efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare made-to-order smoothies, hot and cold sandwiches, sliced meats, and cheeses.
• Prepare grab-and-go items, including sandwiches and sliced meat portions.
• Maintain a clean and presentable deli area by sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and washing service dishes.
• Heat and maintain soups and hot bar dishes to ensure product quality.
• Prepare and cook rotisserie chickens to meet demand.
• Stock and maintain cleanliness of the salad bar.
• Provide samples to customers to enhance their shopping experience.
• Ring up customer orders using a POS system accurately and efficiently.

Essential Requirements:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Flexible availability to meet the needs of the department.
• Willingness to ask questions and continuously learn about our store and industry.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Experience with accurate cash handling.
• Must be at least 19 years of age (required to sell alcohol in Idaho).
• Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback for personal and team growth.
• Physical capability to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. repeatedly and up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
• Comfort with handling raw meat.
• Ability to work on your feet for the entire shift.
• Ability to perform repeated overhead lifting, bending, twisting, reaching, and squatting.
• Proficient in operating various kitchen equipment, including the phone and intercom system, POS system, credit card machines, deli slicer, dishwasher, flattop grill, Vitamix blenders, rotisserie oven, steamer, PLUM scale, and kitchen knives.
