Housekeeper at Medical Center Hospital – Odessa, Texas

Position Summary:

To perform cleaning functions in the assigned area. To maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition of the hospital.

Qualifications:
A. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
B. Training and Experience:
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, to ensure the safety, security, and efficiency of the operation of the hospital's business needs (patients, doctors, staff, or patient's family).
Has the ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to emergencies
Previous experience in institutional cleaning preferred. Able to perform routine and repetitive duties. Neat and clean personal appearance at all times. Express concern for detailed cleaning.

Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
A. Long periods of standing, climbing, stooping, walking, and lifting throughout the working day.
B. Requires operation of mechanical equipment such as buffers and vacuum cleaners.
C. Visual ability to detect cleanliness.
D. Perform a variety of duties including dry and wet mopping, waste removal, wall and window washing and floor care procedures.
E. May require work in special areas such as Surgery, Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Isolation Rooms, or Intensive Care Units.
F. Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals.
G. Possible exposure to combustible chemicals.
H. Possible exposure to infectious diseases
