Overview
Provides day to day support, oversite and activities to ensure the highest performance of the Orchard Park Quality management system. Responsible for guiding Audit, Compliance and continuous improvement and maintenance of quality assurance program by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Assists Quality Assurance Manager in development and administration of the Quality Assurance Program and regulatory issues.
- Designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Perform root-cause analysis on product failures and be able to recommend necessary corrective action to eliminate problem.
- Establishes methods to evaluate products, process and services in order to improve performance, quality and cost.
- Performs internal and external quality audits/surveys to assure compliance with quality standards and design specifications.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of quality deficiencies and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Performs data collection and analysis of product testing activities to achieve department goals in areas such as materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Compiles and writes training material and provides technical support and guidance to quality assurance, quality control, engineering and sales. Performs training when necessary.
- Recommend and implement improvements and/or modifications to operation sequences resulting in reduction of scrap and cost savings.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum Associate's degree (A. A. S.) in Mechanical Technology, Quality/Reliability Technology, etc.; (Bachelors preferred) and/or five + years in quality assurance with an emphasis in quality engineering, root cause analysis, defect prevention, mechanical inspection and international quality standards, AS9100, ISO9001/2000, etc.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have working knowledge of and experience working with SPC and TQM. A working knowledge of FAA regulations and FAA DMIR experience is not required but preferred.
- Must have working knowledge and experience in Quality Systems, Quality Auditing, Product and Process Design, Product and Process Control, Continuous Improvement and Quantitative methods and tools.
- Six Sigma Black/Green belt certification or other quality related certifications a plus.
