In this role, you will be integral to a fast-paced, remote-first real estate startup, ensuring the integrity and approval of all financial transactions related to mortgage loans. Your expertise will help facilitate seamless transactions for clients, enabling them to buy and sell homes with certainty, regardless of the market conditions. • Validate the accuracy of all calculations and update data in LOS to ensure data integrity in the AUS response.
• Evaluate the credit package to ensure an investment-quality loan product.
• Review and approve third-party purchase contracts, title reports, and other legal documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to identify potential solutions for challenging loan files.
• Escalate challenges to the Underwriting Manager/Director as necessary.
• Meet turn time expectations and SLAs for review.
• Maintain current knowledge of secondary market guidelines.
• Manage a daily pipeline to meet service expectations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience underwriting FNMA, FHLMC.
• FHA and VA designations are a plus.
• Experience with multiple Investor guidelines and overlays.
• Advanced knowledge of Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Product Advisor (LPA).
• Proven experience in refinance and purchase mortgage underwriting.
• Loan Origination Software experience required, preferably Encompass or LendingPad.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
